Empowering the Next Generation – A Recap of Our 2026 Annual March Break Empowerment Program

March 24, 2026 DCare Foundation No comments yet

What does a March Break Empowerment Program look like?

For the D’Care Foundation, it looked like a room full of 40 enthusiastic children, a flurry of hands-on learning, and a lot of laughter at the Aaniin Community Center Library.

On March 20th, 2026, we hosted our annual March Break Empowerment Program, and the energy was absolutely electric. Our mission which was simple but ambitious focused on providing children with life-saving skills while promoting a spirit of community and fun.

Skills for Life: CPR, First Aid, and Food Safety

We believe that you are never too young to start leading. This year, we took things up a notch by providing professional certification in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safety Training for the older kids present (ages 7 – 12). Seeing young minds focused on learning how to save a life or handle food safely was truly inspiring. Have you ever wondered how much confidence a child gains when they realize they have the power to help in an emergency?

A massive thank you goes out to Coles Care Training Services. They provided expert training for the kids, making complex safety procedures easy to understand and engage with. We are so proud to have partnered with them once again to facilitate this training and provide each child with an official certificate; a tangible reminder of their hard work and new skills.

More Than Just Training

While the certifications were a highlight, the day was also about being a kid. Between training modules, the library was buzzing with interactive games and team-building exercises. It was wonderful to watch the children interact with one another, making new friends and learning the value of collaboration. We must admit, the sense of community was palpable.

A Heartfelt Thank You

This day would not have been possible without our ongoing sponsors and partners. Your continued support allows us to offer these high-impact programs for free.

To the parents who trusted us with their little ones: thank you for your energy and for being a part of the D’Care Foundation family.

Did your child attend our March Break Program this year? We would love to hear your favorite memory from the day.
